What is it?

We refer to our impact investing orientation as ‘profit with a purpose’. Impact investing is a term that captures the concept that investments can provide financial returns and positive social outcomes.

Putting it to work

Our investment activity throughout the Caribbean region, and specifically Haiti where we will be launching the Haiti Impact Investment Fund, reinforces the concept that “long-term value creation and sustainability are inextricably linked”.

Our Community Involvement

Portland is a founding member of the Caribbean Impact Working Group (a multi-stakeholder group working to establish the Caribbean region as a geography of interest for the international impact investor community), a signatory to the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment, and requires adherence to the World Bank / International Finance Corporation’s Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) criteria in its portfolio companies.
