Portland Private Equity, a leading private equity fund management company, was pleased to participate at the Caribbean Infrastructure Finance Forum. Infrastructure throughout the Caribbean region is chronically underfunded. As the President of the Caribbean Development Bank has noted, between 2014 and 2024 “…some US$30 billion will be required to modernize and enhance the efficiency of the power, transportation, telecommunications, and water and wastewater sectors.” Portland through its portfolio companies, InterEnergy Holdings and Columbus Communications, has been intimately involved with the evolution of the region’s energy and telecommunications sectors respectively. Portland participated provided the private equity practitioner’s perspective on a panel titled “Funding Regional Infrastructure and Renewable Energy Expansion: Strategies to Increase the Appeal of the Caribbean as an Infrastructure Investment Destination”.
